Integrative Medicine Program
Amigo Family Counseling, LLC (AFC) is soon to offer an Integrative Medicine Program. The program will help clients apply holistic, mind-body health practices to improve their mental and physical health and overall well-being. This program will focus on the use of mindfulness and yoga, the reduction of stress and emotional conflict, the improvement of joy and self-love, and an increase in productivity at work and home. The program will be coordinated with AFC’s ongoing efforts to help clients acquire and maintain life skills. These skills will assist clients in their future independent living, schooling, and career endeavors. The presiding goal of the Integrative Medicine Program at AFC is to develop and attain tangible, sustainable, and measurable change. When implemented, the program will offer a walking club, mindfulness and stress-reduction classes, sessions dedicated to discussing life goals and self-empowerment, guidance on meal planning and healthy eating practices, and interactive activities to promote overall well-being and attain a fulfilled and balanced life.
KATHRYN VECCHIO, M.S., D.Min., is a certified Integrative Health Coach from Duke University. In a structured, supportive partnership, Kathryn provides ongoing guidance with her clients as they set their own goals and make sustainable changes to improve their health and happiness. Kathryn employs a "whole person" approach to assist her clients to reach goals in all areas of life. She encourages clients to explore all attributes of health, including physical, mental and spiritual elements, so they may obtain total health balance.
